The Spek anchor is an improved version of the Hall anchor, with the center of the anchor head located below the centerline of the pin shaft. The structural feature is that the anchor crown is equipped with an anchor crown plate and reinforcing ribs. Therefore, the claws of this type of anchor are easily turned to the ground, providing better stability. When retracting the anchor, the claws naturally face upwards and flip over when in contact with the hull plate, without damaging the hull plate.
