Reason of Carbon Deposit Formation
When engine is working, the fuel oil and little amount of incoming lubricant couldn't combust completely. The unburned oil is converted into colloid adhering to intake valve, intake pipes, piston or surface of the combustion chamber due to high temperature and oxidation. And after more high temperature, the colloid will be solidified into mixture of asphaltene and oil coke, that's how carbon deposit formed.
Formula of oil and gas burning in combustion chamber:
C8H18+O2→CO+H2O -- (incomplete combustion)
→CO2+H2O - (complete combustion)
The carbon deposit is formed at spark plug, cover and cylinder head due to incomplete combustion.
Chemical equation:
C8H18+heat→C+H2+CxHy - (carbon deposit)
Hazard of Carbon Deposit
Carbon deposit causes abnormal emission, increase of fuel consumption, idle jitter, lowering power, easy engine stops and difficult engine starts, furthermore, the lifespan of TWC, oxidation sensor and spark plug will be shortened. If severe carbon deposit occurs, it may cause the intake valve burnt or adhered, preignition, deflagration, engine knock, cylinder scoring to damage the engine cylinder.
Working Principle
Under the ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure, the hydrogen is conveyed directly into the combustion chamber of the operational engine, in which, the hydrogen is converted into hydrogen ions burning with the carbon deposit and oil sludge to generate carbon dioxide and water, so as to remove the carbon deposit effectively and clean the engine as well. Below is the chemical equation in the combustion chamber:
The hydrogen is converted into hydrogen ions in a certain condition H2→2H+
The high activated hydrogen ions combined with carbon deposit and oil sludge in the combustion chamber are converted into carbon dioxide and water which is discharged with the car exhaust:
C+H+→CxHy
CxHy+O2→CO2+H2O
