To ensure the engine is working with perfect air fuel ratio, we need to detect the oxygen percentage in the exhaust gas. Therefore oxygen sensor is in used to collect the data and transfer them to ECU for further control of air intake and fuel spay. The combustion would be most powerful at the perfect 14.7:1 air fuel ratio.
