A fairlead is a device used to guide the passage of objects such as cables, rigging or pipesand ensure that they follow a predetermined path. Fairleads are usually made of metal orother wear-resistant material and have a rounded or slotted design to reduce friction andwear.On ships, fairleads are usually located on the side or side of the ship to guide the passage ofanchor chains, cables, haulage ropes, etc., and to prevent them from being worn on thesurface of the hull or disturbed by other objects. Fairleads are also used in ship's lifting gearto guide the movement of hooks, cables or rigging for safe and efficient cargo handlingoperations.
Mooring deck chock is also called mooring deck pipe because it works as a pipe through which mooring rope can pass. All our marine cast iron chocks are approved by various classification societies like ABS,DNV,BV,LR,NK,CCS ,RINA etc.
The function of mooring chock is mainly to protect the bulwark and the deck, it can reduce the friction caused by mooring ropes and can extend it's service time at the same time. It is usually mounted on bulwark or deck. We supply many kinds of mooring chocks.
