Diesel particulate filter (DPF) is a wall flow honeycomb ceramic made of Cordierite or silicon carbide. The main component of the exhaust gas from the diesel engine is carbon particles. The particulate filter is a device installed in the exhaust system of the diesel vehicle to reduce particulate matter (PM) in the exhaust through filtering. Its filtering efficiency for carbon particles can reach more than 90%, The soluble organic component SOF (mainly high boiling point HC) can also be partially trapped. The working principle of a particle trap is to filter and remove PM by alternately blocking both ends of the holes in honeycomb shaped porous ceramics and utilizing the wall holes of the ceramics.
