The predecessor of Sinotruk (Chongqing) Light Automotive Co., Ltd. was Chongqing Yuzhou Automotive Manufacturing Plant, which was founded in 1956, and later developed into Chongqing Jialing Chuanjiang Automotive Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
In 2009, Weichai Group controlled Jiachuan Company and acquired the remaining equity of Jiachuan Company in January 2012, making Jiachuan Company a wholly-owned subsidiary of Weichai Group and was renamed Weichai (Chongqing) Automotive Co., Ltd.
On December 31, 2020, after adjustment, the shareholders were changed to China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Jinan Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. and Weichai Power Co., Ltd., and the company officially became a subsidiary of China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co.,Ltd.
On January 29, 2021, the company officially changed its name to Sinotruk (Chongqing) Light Automotive Co., Ltd
The company's production base is located in Shuangfu New District,Jiangjin District, Chongqing, covering an area of 1285 mu. The first phase ofthe project was completed and put into production in March 2015, with an annual production capacity of 120,000 vehicles. The factory has four completeprocesses, adopts full-process automatic transportation, full-process information support, and is equipped with a large number of advanced equipment.The process level has reached the domestic leading level. After the completion of the second phase, the annual production capacity will reach 300,000 vehicles.
