Introduction to automobile drive axle
Vehicle drive axle wheel set, including wheel reducer, brake assembly, wheel hub assembly, steering knuckle, support shaft assembly, wheel drive shaft, upper swing arm coupling assembly, and lower swing arm coupling assembly. The supporting shaft always becomes a hollow shaft, the wheel drive shaft penetrates the inside of the supporting shaft assembly and is connected to the wheel reducer, and the wheel hub assembly is installed on the supporting shaft assembly.
Automobile drive axle function: the drive axle is at the end of the power transmission system. Its basic function is to increase the torque transmitted by the transmission shaft or transmission, and reasonably distribute the power to the left and right drive wheels. In addition, it also bears the vertical, longitudinal and transverse forces acting between the road surface and the frame or body. The drive axle is generally composed of main reducer, differential, wheel transmission device and drive axle housing.
The working principle of the drive axle is at the end of the power train, and its basic functions are
1. Transmit the engine torque from the universal transmission to the driving wheels through the main reduction tires, differentials, half shafts, etc., so as to reduce the speed and increase the torque;
2. Change the torque transmission direction through the bevel gear pair of the final reducer;
3. The differential function of the wheels on both sides is realized through the differential to ensure that the inner and outer wheels turn at different speeds. The drive axle is a mechanism at the end of the drive train that can change the speed and torque from the transmission and transmit them to the drive wheels. The drive axle is generally composed of a main reducer, a differential, a wheel transmission device and a drive axle housing, and the steering drive axle also has a constant velocity universal joint. In addition, the drive axle has to withstand the vertical force, longitudinal force and lateral force, as well as braking torque and reaction force acting between the road surface and the frame or body.
