JULONG Dependable 6"-10" Jet Suction Dredger
General Considerations:
The Jet suction dredger is a stationary dredger equipped with a high water pressure device which excavate the soil before it is sucked up by the flow of the dredge pumps.
During operation the dredger moves around a spud pole by pulling and slacking on the two fore sideline wires. This type of dredger is capable to dredge all kind of material and is accurate due to their movement around the spud pole.
The stationary suction dredger is to distinguished easily from the plain suction dredger by its spud poles, which the last don't have.
Area of application:
Sand suction dredgers are largely used in the dredging of harbours and fairways as well as for land reclamation projects. In such cases the distance between the dredging and disposal areas is usually smaller than the distances covered by trailing suction hopper dredgers.
The suction dredger also has the adbantage when an accurate profile has to be dredged. The cutter suction dredger can tackle almost all types of soil, although of coure this depends on the installed cutting power.
Sand suction dredgers are built in a wide range of types and sizes, the cutting head power ranges between 20Kw for the smallest to around 4000Kw for the largest.
The dredging depth is usually limited; the biggest suction dredger can reach depths between 25 an 30m. The minimum dredging depth is usually determined by the draught of the pontoon.
