Description of Platform Type Lifeboat
Platform type lifeboat is an usual and essential life saving boat for oil platform on the sea. It's totally made of fiberglass and there are common type and fire resistant type. Common platform life boat is mainly used for training in lifesaving training institution. Fire resistant type life boat is widely used in offshore oil platform.
Fire resistant type life boat is also called tanker version. The main difference of it with common lifeboat is that it's designed with spray system and compressed air system. There are often oil slicks floating on the sea around oil platforms, so once a fire breaks out, the fire will spread rapidly.
Spray System and Compressed Air System
The lifeboat's sprinkler device can quickly extinguish the fire around the hull and help trapped people escape from the danger zone quickly. At the same time, because the black smoke produced when burning oil can make it difficult for trapped people to breathe, the compressed air device in the boat will provide fresh air for the people inside the boat to breathe normally.
Platform Type Davit for lifeboat
The platform type davit is a special equipment for lowering and recovering boat with winch, which is installed on the platform.
The davit confirms to the requirement of the Amendments to SOLAS 1996-MSC 47(66), International LSA Code, MSC 48(66), IMO resolution MSC81(70) , MSC 216(82), MSC217(82) and MSC 226(82).

The boat is turned out and lowered by means of remote control.
Lowering of the boat is depending on its own gravity and with no need of any other power.
A permanently mounted motor on the winch is used for hoisting the boat back to the right position.
