General transport ships have 1 ~ 2 propellers.The number of propellers can be increased for ships with high propelling power.Large fast passenger ships have two to four OARS.Propeller generally has 3 ~ 4 blades, diameter according to the horsepower and draught of the ship, the lower end does not touch the bottom, the upper end does not exceed the load line.Propeller speed should not be too high, ocean cargo ships for about 100 revolutions per minute, small speed boats up to 400 ~ 500 revolutions per minute, but the efficiency will be affected.The propeller is usually made of manganese bronze or corrosion-resistant alloys, but can also be made of stainless steel, nickel-aluminum bronze or cast iron.
