Definition:

The guide chain roller is a guide chain wheel which is arranged between the anchor chain barrel and the chain bracket in order to make the anchor chain retrieve smoothly and avoid friction with the upper mouth of the anchor chain barrel in the process of anchoring (anchoring or anchoring). The guide chain roller is arranged at the outlet of the deck of the anchor chain barrel to restrict the movement direction of the anchor chain so that the anchor chain passes through the sprocket when the axis of the same sprocket is perpendicular.

It is composed of roller, bracket and pin shaft with concave chain grooves.

Use:

Besides avoiding friction between the anchor chain and the anchor chain, the anchor chain can be adjusted to prevent the anchor chain from jumping. Chain rollers are installed on large and medium ships, and no deck anchors are required. The chute is also used instead of the chain roller.

The guide chain roller can guide and correct the line of the anchor chain, prevent the jump of the anchor chain, and reduce the friction between the anchor chain and the lip edge of the anchor chain on deck. Some ships use chain chutes instead of navigation rollers.

The installation of the guide chain roller should make the anchor chain pass through the anchor chain barrel without friction with the anchor chain barrel mouth extending out of the deck. The common chain roller is suitable for the diameter of the anchor chain 12.5~68mm.
