Side frame - one of the main structural elements of the bogie framework of the model 18-100. It is manufactured by casting, with additional machining and riveting of wear-resistant plates. Side frame, drawing No. 100.00.002-4SB, represents a major piece of a freight wagon bogie, which transmits the load on the axle through the axle box. Cast alloy steels 20GFL and 20GL.

Bolster drawing No. 100.00.001-6 serves as a bridge between the two side frames in the construction of a freight wagon bogie. To ensure reliability and durability the bolster is casted from steel 20GFL or 20GL. One of the main frame details of a bogies framework model No. 18-100. Set lifetime of a bogie frame before a bolster discarding is 30 years. The designated lifetime up to the first depot repair is 2 years, before the first overhaul is 8 years. Established time to failure is at least 2 years.
